Gears Used For SUP Yoga

It is helpful to have experience in SUP or yoga before trying SUP yoga, but you don't need to be an expert in either of these areas. The best way to try it for the first time is with SUP yoga.

Rowing and yoga can seem like an odd couple at first. However, there are many reasons why people love to practice yoga in the water. To find more about standup paddle board yoga classes visit https://www.supyogacenter.com/.

You will need the basic equipment you need for rowing on a normal day, including:

Paddle Stands: Some boards are made specifically for SUP yoga, but almost any wide, sturdy, flat deck will do. It is useful to have padded planks on the deck extending to the bow and stern of the board. This makes the pose more comfortable. Find out more about choosing SUP.

Paddle: Each SUP paddle does its job. Just make sure it's right for you. When doing yoga, you simply place the paddle perpendicular to the board and close to your nose. Or, with a reel rope, you can wrap the rope around your paddle several times and let it float in the water behind you.

Strap: Usually sold separately from the plank. A rope ties your SUP by holding the board close to you in case of a fall. For SUP yoga, use the bridle when rowing from the edge, then remove it from your leg once you snap the board in place.
